Erawan Thai Restaurant was established by two sibling and their spouse in May of 2016. Our company was founded on a desire to make Thailand’s distinctive and sensational cuisine more accessible to locals in Falkirk and the surrounding areas.
With our team of experienced culinary professionals, we are able to bring an honest-to-goodness Thai dining experience to this beautiful town in Scotland. Our servers extend warm hospitality when delivering each exquisite dish that comes out of the kitchen, which operates under the keen eyes and efficient hands of our head chef.
He knows great food
Executive Chef and owner - Mr. Saran Saengsuriya developed a passion for food at an early age. Growing up in Ayutthaya, Thailand he worked on family farm growing rice in the rice fields, and raised chicken on the farm. With a big family of 7 siblings, everyone had to help mother to prepare and cook food. Saran knew how to cook Thai food at age 5 years old. Saran has been a professional chef for over 20 years. Let’s look at Saran’s experience.
Saran earned a Hospitality Degree from Pattaya, Thailand. He also learned how to do vegetables and fruit carving. He worked at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok 5 years - from 1995 to 2000. He received winner of the year in fruits and vegetables carving. Saran also received Gold medal award for excellence in junior fruits and vegetables carving on stage.
Portugal & England
From his talent, Saran was offered to come aboard to work in a Thai restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal. He worked there from 2000 to 2005. He then moved to United Kingdom to work in another Thai restaurant from 2006 to 2011.
In 2011 Saran traveled to Scotland and fell in love with the people, nature and the culture. He decided to stay in Scotland with his family. He worked in Thai restaurant in Aberdeen from 2011 to 2016.
